What To Expect:

  • Develop the annual automation map according to the needs of the processes and the operational objectives defined by the company.
  • Design and implement improvements in the production process, through the use of new technologies that allow automation, improve quality, ergonomics, productivity and reduce manufacturing times and costs.
  • Develop electrical design and software for automated process fixtures. Selection of electronic components to be used, development of electrical diagrams for the connection of components, programming of logic controllers, frequency inverters, servo motors and stepper motors. 
  • Develop electrical drawings to the drawing department, perform and document all necessary studies. 
  • Demonstrate through functional tests that the equipment or solutions designed satisfactorily meet the established requirements.
  • To be an expert in software validations in the company, in order to provide high-level automatic control software engineering services, where software validations and all regulatory requirements established in our quality system are fully complied with. 
  • Design and implement improvements in the Mechanical, Pneumatic, Electrical, PLC Software and process areas in general to improve the efficiency of the production process.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technological trends in control engineering, industrial automation and industry 4.0.
  • Verify that all automation activities comply with applicable industry standards and machinery safety regulations.
  • Provide support in the resolution of failures and improvements to automated manufacturing equipment, facilities, quality and other departments that require it from HOLOGIC CR, in addition to HOLOGIC equipment. INC present in the facilities of the suppliers, as well as in the different HOLOGIC plants if required.
  • Carry out validations of equipment and systems that are introduced or modified in the plant, in order to ensure that they meet the necessary requirements both for production, quality and safety of the machinery they apply.
  •  Ensure the development of bills of materials, processes, dimensions, and procedures for the design of models and equipment that improve quality and productivity.
  • Analyze where automated systems can perform tasks with high precision and consistency, which reduce the likelihood of errors and defects. In order to lead to less waste and lower costs associated with rework and scrap. 
  • Prepare documentation and manuals related to the processes and operation of current production equipment and new equipment developed, in order to provide clear and concise information on its operation, maintenance and required calibrations, which are requirements of the quality system.
  • Define, prepare and supply to the appropriate party with the necessary specifications for the design and commissioning of the different equipment developed for the automation of processes.
  • Research, analyze, and determine studies for the reduction of production costs through the implementation of improvements, modifications, or design of equipment.
  • Develop validation plans for IQ, OQ, PQ and equipment FAT, SAT, and URS protocols.

 

  • Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related career. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in positions of a similar nature.

 The annualized base salary range for this hourly role is $78,100 to $122,100 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand..

 

  • Specialized Knowledge (Desirable): 

 

  • PLC programming.
  • Programming vision systems.
  • Basic knowledge of networks and databases.
  • Industrial pneumatics.
  • Interpretation of electrical and pneumatic drawings.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulation for electronic records 21 CFR Part 11. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of machinery safety regulations applied to industrial equipment. (Desirable)
  • GAMP 5 Validation experience
