Job Description

Product Data Manager, Market Distribution

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Onsite, four days per week – Kohler, WI

Opportunity

Accountable for the design, execution and continuous optimization of product data and content across all market-facing channels. This role ensures that product information is accurate, complete, compliant, and consistently represented wherever customers discover, evaluate, and purchase Kohler products. By acting as a central point of coordination between upstream product data teams and downstream channel and merchandising teams, this role enables scalable, high-quality product experiences across the digital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Product Data & Content Distribution Oversight:

  • Own the end-to-end distribution of product data and content from internal systems of record to all market-facing channels and platforms.
  • Ensure product information is consistently delivered in alignment with defined standards, channel requirements, and business priorities.
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination for product data and content readiness across the market.
  • This role operates without direct people management responsibility and achieves outcomes through influence, cross-functional partnership and technical expertise.

Synchronization & Standards Management:

  • Define and maintain standards, rules, and processes for synchronizing product data and content across all channels in partnership with upstream data owners and downstream channel teams.
  • Partner with upstream product data teams to align on source-of-truth definitions, data quality expectations, and update cadences.
  • Coordinate change management related to product updates, launches, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Business Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with business teams to understand objectives and translate them into actionable syndication strategies. Directly design and execute product data syndication workflows, including mapping, validation, transformation and delivery to external partner platforms. Drive the execution of efficient processes for syndicating PIM content to internal and external partners, ensuring alignment with business needs and following industry standards.

Channel & Merchandising Enablement:

  • Collaborate with channel, merchandising, and account teams to ensure product data and content support effective execution across retail, marketplace, and DTC experiences.
  • Translate channel-specific requirements into scalable distribution approaches rather than one-off solutions.
  • Support consistent product representation while allowing for appropriate channel differentiation.
  • Partner Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, data brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on product data syndication needs.

Data Quality, Readiness & Reporting:

  • Develop clear documentation of syndication processes and share best practices across teams to drive consistency and efficiency.
  • Monitor product data completeness, accuracy, and compliance across market-facing endpoints.
  • Identify and help resolve gaps or inconsistencies that impact product representation, customer experience, or channel performance.
  • Establish and track readiness indicators to support product launches and ongoing assortment health.

Continuous Improvement & Capability Evolution:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance syndication workflows to improve scalability, efficiency and consistency of product data and content distribution.
  • Support the evolution of distribution capabilities to accommodate new channels, platforms, and digital discovery surfaces; existing, new and emerging.
  • Ensure the availability, accuracy, and optimization of product data to support a seamless digital shelf experience for products across multiple platforms. Proactively identify and lead initiatives to streamline workflows, enhancing the efficiency and scalability of PIM system maintenance.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating complex, cross-functional initiatives related to product data, content, digital commerce, or market-facing systems.
  • Working knowledge of product data and content platforms (e.g., PIM, DAM, PXM) and how they enable distribution across digital commerce channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate complex, cross-functional initiatives involving product data, content, or digital commerce.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational execution.
  • Ability to translate business and channel requirements into repeatable processes, standards, and operating practices.
