Manufacturing Buyer – Industrial (On-Site) | Dayton, OH

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Buyer to support daily purchasing operations for a growing industrial equipment manufacturer in Dayton, OH.

This role is focused on day-to-day purchasing, working directly with vendors, and supporting production by ensuring materials, parts, and supplies are delivered on time.

This is an on-site role in a manufacturing environment — ideal for someone who enjoys being close to operations and making an immediate impact.

What You’ll Do

• Issue and manage purchase orders on a daily basis
• Purchase industrial parts, materials, and shop supplies
• Work directly with vendors on pricing, availability, and lead times
• Follow up on late shipments, shortages, and order issues
• Partner with production and shop teams to meet project timelines
• Track and update orders within the ERP system
• Maintain accurate vendor and purchasing records
• Support inventory needs and ensure materials are available for production

What We’re Looking For

• 3–5+ years of purchasing or buyer experience
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Experience issuing and managing purchase orders (POs)
• Strong communication skills working with vendors and internal teams
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Experience with an ERP system (Great Plains is a plus)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook

Preferred Experience

Experience purchasing one or more of the following:

• Industrial parts or components
• Electrical components
• Steel, fabrication, or raw materials
• MRO or shop supplies
