Job Description

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Certified Surgical Technologist is needed for an operating room role located in South Portland, ME. This travel position offers a dynamic work environment focusing on Level 1 trauma cases along with a variety of surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, neurological, and pediatric procedures. Candidates will have the chance to work with advanced surgical equipment such as Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive Robot systems, supporting high-acuity patients in a 26-bed unit.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in surgical technology, with Level 1 trauma exposure
• Experience with general surgery, GU/GYN, orthopedic trauma and joints, neurosurgery, ENT, pediatrics, plastics, dental, or endovascular procedures preferred
• Strong teamwork skills, accountability, flexibility, and punctuality

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms with appropriate surgical instruments and equipment
• Assist surgical teams by anticipating needs during procedures
• Maintain sterile fields and adhere to infection control standards
• Support patient safety and efficient workflow in a fast-paced trauma and specialty surgical unit
• Participate in on-call rotation, including overnight trauma calls as required by specialty teams

Schedule:

• 3x12 hour day shifts, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Weekend rotation average 1:4
