Novant Health Southeastern Spine Institute is looking for a Surgical Technologist! 

 

  • Location: 1625 Hospital Drive, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 
  • Status:  Full Time
  • Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 7am-4pm. No weekends, holidays, or call!

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D – Operating Room Specialist). For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification please see additional skills required. Online Surgical Tech program credits will not be accepted.
  • Experience: Previous Surgical Technologist experience, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current Surgical Tech certification, preferred.
  • Additional Skills (required): For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification the following additional requirements apply: new graduates must obtain certification within 12months of hire. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time management skills.
  • Additional Skills (preferred): One to two years of experience in sterile processing or equivalent training if assigned solely to sterile processing.
What You'll Do:
  • Prepare the operating room, ensuring equipment and sterile supplies are available.
  • Sterilize, assemble, and check equipment 
  • Review surgeon preferences to prepare specialized trays.
  • Wash and disinfect incision sites.
  • Position the patient on the operating table
  • Clean and transport instruments for terminal sterilization.
  • Assist with cleaning and turning over the operating room for the next patient.
  • Restock the operating room with necessary supplies.
