Here is some of what you can expect from being a Pharmacy Resident with us:

  • You will participate in training and educational activities of the residency program to: acquire the knowledge necessary for high-level problem solving, refine problem solving strategies, strengthen professional and leadership values and activities, advance growth in clinical judgment
  • You will display initiative in providing optimal patient medication therapy outcomes through clinical pharmacy services, education, special projects, innovative services, and other appropriate activities
  • You will interpret and process physician orders, monitors drug interactions, allergies and drug incompatibilities, and dispenses and performs the final check of all medications provided for patient use
  • You will maintain active involvement in local, state, and/or national pharmacy professional organizations
  • You will formulate a system for staying current with pertinent pharmacy, medical, and scientific literature
  • You will maintain knowledge and understanding of Pharmacy and Medical Center information systems
  • You will deliver effective education and training using appropriate techniques
  • You will present pharmacy concerns, solutions, and interests in a balanced and effective manner

What qualifications you will need:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Kansas, within 90 days of hire
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course, as specified in policy
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) verification course, as specified in policy, within allotted time frame
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) verification courses are preferred, as specified in policy
  • PharmD within 3 months of hire
  • Previous hospital experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws, TJC, and professional practice standards
