Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Center Technical Manager to serve as the technical authority across all engineering systems within our data center program. This role ensures that designs, equipment, and vendor deliverables align with performance, reliability, and constructability standards.
You will act as the key liaison between internal teams and external engineering partners, driving consistency across design packages while resolving complex technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership across MEP systems (power, cooling, controls, fire protection, BMS)
Review and validate design deliverables against internal standards and industry codes
Act as the primary interface with design consultants, integrators, and engineering partners
Own and evolve technical standards and basis of design documentation
Lead resolution of design conflicts, RFIs, and field engineering issues
Oversee technical vendor strategy, equipment specifications, and qualification processes
Manage critical equipment lifecycle including production tracking and delivery alignment
Lead and mentor discipline-specific SMEs (electrical, mechanical, controls)
Partner with construction and commissioning teams to ensure system readiness and performance
Drive standardization across equipment platforms and vendor selections
Support procurement in technical evaluations and vendor negotiations
AI-Enabled Delivery
Apply AI and analytics to monitor vendor risk and supply chain performance
Use predictive tools to identify and mitigate delivery or design risks
Leverage automation for design review, specification validation, and document control
Support development of integrated dashboards for equipment tracking and project insights
Requirements
15+ years in data center engineering or mission-critical infrastructure
Strong expertise across electrical, mechanical, and controls systems
Experience reviewing and approving complex design packages
Background in vendor management and critical equipment procurement
Proven leadership of technical teams across multiple projects
Strong communication skills in cross-functional, matrixed environments
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with hyperscale or large-scale data center programs
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Familiarity with industry standards (Uptime, ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.)
Exposure to advanced cooling and high-density power systems
Experience with commissioning and redundancy validation
